Even when implants are well integrated in the alveolar bone and are functioning for you properly, they need some care which includes maintenance of meticulous oral hygiene. For this twice daily brushing and flossing and once in a year professional cleaning are recommended.
Implants and crowns being artificial are resistant to decay but need to be protected from the plaque which affects the gums and the periodontium and ultimately the implants. Thus regular dental visits and proper cleaning of oral cavity are mandatory.
